regrets.

The year was 2005, we were all still riding on the high of fast and the furious, neons were still semi cool, and insane inane paintjobs were the shit.

scary.

cutey

buy me this, i'll dump it, flush it out on a set of centerline auto drags,  and cruise til we eventually run out of petroleum.

hello honey!

ooooohhhh

"Robello-built L20 bored and stroked to 2.3L. The car also had an Isky cam, Nissan comp headers, twin Mikuni 44 carburetors with short Mikuni manifold, ITG filter, Crane fireball XR700 ignition, Roadster 5-speed mid-close ratio transmission"

never heard of Rocky Auto? what is wrong with you?! possibly one of my favourite workshop's over in Japan, Rocky Auto know what they're doing when it comes to old school nissans. Like your nissan but want to upgrade to some more modern power?

aaaawwww yeah!

guide: how to be antisocial: part 1

a) smash some flames
does your porsche do this? i know mine doesn't. must be broken.

Princeton's Flame spitting Porsche! from MayDay DavidD on Vimeo.

there's something sensual about a bit of smouldering red heat coming from the exhaust pipe of a car, whether it be a key bang in the old PoS in the tunnel, or hitting redline on the track, its awesome, its 1986, its antisocial.

Wagons,ADVANCE!

just spotted this video over at garage slipway, brightened my mood tenfold.

you're doing it wrong

someone tell n1 concept they're doing it wrong right. not your average jazz, JDM 4WD version, with a n1 concept turbo kit, has
the potential to slay all at race wars.

another car out of the N1 Concepts stable, i'll never get used to seeing slicks on the front wheels but it does give the car an awesomely tough stance, and obviously necessary with the car posting a pb of 9.95 @ 142mph. Come on you fwd kids, i'm trying to fucking help you here. Don't just cruise around with a canon, attempting to pick up the chicks, stop spending money on your sound system and schweet 16 inch rims, get a turbo kit, some c16 and pull some front wheel burnouts, chicks love em, my mum told me.

Hellaflush three point five

Buttonwillow, one dark ominous afternoon, group of rides with crazy fitment, what do you get? Hellaflush 3.5. shit yeah, here's your dose of USDM for the day.

probably the most well known mexi-flush car. i love it, just oozes style.

and whats the point of going to willow without going sideways

Group B rally

Back when men were men, Group B rally was all the rage for rally fans around the world, sadly because of a few deaths the sport was deemed too dangerous and Group B was disbanded, however to alot of fans this seems to be the golden era of rallying.

I mean whats not to like?

Stupid power figures anywhere from 300hp to around 650hp!!
All wheel drive,
ridiculous boost levels,
little to no regulations on technology, number of cars built, weight or power levels.
And speeds of 0-100kmh in 2.5 seconds on gravel!
No wonder so many crazy fans were crazy enough to stand on the track! Blink twice and you'd miss them!

anyway heres some vids to keep you kids entertained,

Awesome footage, needs more car sounds!

For the purists just car sounds.

Fukuoka...what?

The Fukuoka Custom car show for 2010 took place just recently, and as an excuse to get out of watching grey's anatomy, i've been scouring the net for some choice pics of the event, and here we are

satin black for stealth at the Uras stand? Yes please.

wooo widened steelies, whats not to love?

Tokyo Auto Salon

Hi all, French is the name, shamps recently approached me to co-write on his blog, as an avid speed lover, JDM enthusiast and closet ford fan, ill be providing some input into his blog and sharing the work load (ie drinking and generally talking shit).

But that's enough about me, its time for my first post!

Tokyo Auto Salon 2010,

Yes, i know it was a month or so ago, but hey i was there, so here's some shots and commentary.

PS (I'm an apprentice not a photographer so my shitty 12 mega pixel camera will have to do)

Revolution's time attack FD3s RX7, words cannot describe the awesomeness!, all carbon fibre panels(except the roof), rear diffuser, inboard suspension and a surprisingly mild 538hp, this car is built for response, just weighing in at 960kg it has high hopes for a sub 55 second lap at Tsukuba circuit.

Can anybody say rear camber? Insane wheel fitment is the norm at these events.

D1gp Blitz Skyline, driven by Ken Nomura AKA the "Monkey Man" always a crowd favourite.

Insane custom interiors installs.

This kei-car got the full treatment, the paint job was simply stunning. (the camera does no justice)

The wonders of the PANSPEED stand, Ive been told this legendary car is coming to eastern creek later this year.

Battle scars on the Bee-R skyline

Nice um mm... airbrushing

Bentley Le Mans car , wow!

This Manga theme Fd was at the Re Amemiya stand, nice but no idea how your meant to see out that window..

Of course its not always about the cars, took me a while to spot that lambo.

Its not always JDM at these events, this Camaro was getting its fair share of attention.

A GT500 Eleanor theme replica yes? well maybe, lets just say its a very Japanese take to it.

Would you believe that under all that fibreglass resides a JA80 supra? 2JZ love with American styling.

Anyway, ill leave you what i saw at the R Magic stand, count them, 1,2,3,4 rotors! And peripheral ported, reminds me i need to buy that loto ticket.

Anti-raaag

Miss the Antilag cruise friday night? you fucking idiot what were you thinking? it was epic! well make sure you don't miss the next one. Join the forum.

and just to make this post interesting, if you thought volvo's were only for old swedish men, well you were wrong

Turbo Volvo drifts on to highway

Doin it for the Germans.

I've always had  love for Golfs, maybe its the inner chav in me, but they're hot. FWD kids take note, echo's aren't cool, Euro style VW's are the only way to get the chicks pumpin the gumption.

Ultimate Burnout

Thinking about Gazzanats and burnouts etc, got me thinking about some of my fave burnout vids, this ones probably the best of the best, not only is it a rotor, its kiwi, its in my dad's hometown of Dunedin, and its massive. None of that circlework bs, this guy does it over speedhumps.

if i ever get married (god forbid), someone better commit and do this at my funeral (wedding)

Gazzanats

Collie Gazzanats took place the weekend just gone (21-22nd of Feb), pretty much if u wear flannelette and appreciate a blown V8 cutting loops u would've been there. Unfortunately i had previous engagements i couldn't escape from which prevented me going, otherwise i would've been there representing my bogan pride.

and some photos - Gazza Pics thread

Mitchell Fwy = Wangan?

Mid Night Club anyone? Wish we had some of this action in Perth, except for the occasional Anti-Lag freeway run there isn't much, nearly 1.5+ hour of freeway out there kids. Mind u, from the amount of crashes that i saw on the AL cruise the other night, maybe its not such a smart idea.

oh and someone buy me these kicks, class.

Aussie Pride

what's more Australian than taking the good old Vl basher out for a skid in the industrial area? maybe a vb and snagger afterwards, but oh well. I need my license back!

haha! the idea manifests itself

A few days ago the boys and I embarked on a cruise down south to pickup yet another hunk of metal to add to the fleet. The car doesn't really matter, what got me thinking on the boring trip back (fuck the new busso highways boring during the day) was that we, the people involved in the car scene of perth, don't really have anywhere central to go to find information about the car scene in perth, whens the next big cruise, drag events at the plex, etc, so I decided to take it upon myself to start this blog. So here I shall introduce myself, my names shamp, and I'm a closet alcoholic, lover of JDM, and the General. Here's the first post, fucking deal with it.
