Not completely over, just the 2010 season. I'll let you read the statement and decide for yourself the future of Australian Drift. Me? I never really got into the national series anyways.
"Due to the recent breakdown in extended and exhaustive negotiations, Ninety Degree Entertainment has been regrettably forced to cancel the current 2010 series format and postpone the Drift Australia events for 2010.
The premature announcements regarding Drift Australia in 2010 was somewhat based on maintaining commitments that still are being negotiated.
In light of this announcement, Ninety Degree Entertainment and all the teams are still committed to delivering a national drift series.
During this time, a new series format will be developed to a more feasible platform for all competitors and stakeholders with the view for long-term sustainability. The series organisers and all teams will be collectively communicating new ideas and strategies for a stronger return in the near future. The relative late notice can affect the environment of the round format. Given that many tracks are not flexible later in the year, Drift Australia in 2010 may not run with the scheduled five rounds."
